Queer Eye

I have such a love for this show. It is like happiness and hope wrapped in a TV show. Season 2 just came out on Netflix and the first episode only made me love the show more. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the season.

I love a romantic comedy and it has been ages since one has been made. The fact that Netflix made one makes me so happy.

A summer book series for the family

Last summer Carlos read, The Series of Unfortunate Events, to the kids, and it created so many conversations and much mutual joking. This summer we are reading Harry Potter. We alternate between me reading aloud and the audiobook while we are driving. We just finished book 3 and characters or plot lines are discussed on a daily basis. It is so much fun!

I’m Still Here by Austin Channing Brown

I feel like this is such an important book. I just finished I’m Still Here a few minutes ago, and I am still processing it, but I highly recommend it.

Freeing Your Child From Anxiety by Tamar Chansky Ph.D.

One of my kids is dealing with anxiety and while we have been talking to his doctor about it, Freeing Your Child From Anxiety gave us some great practical ideas to help him deal with his anxiety.

A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter

I love regency era fiction, so this book was right up my alley. There is a free Kindle novella that is the prequel to A Defense of Honor, so it might be a good way to see if this is your kind of fiction.

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

I read The Couple Next Door in one day. I don’t often read suspense, but this one sucked me in right away. It also sort of disturbed me, so if that is not your thing, this might not be the book for you.
